250/4 Zeiss Sonnar for Contarex

The 250/4 Sonnar first version.

Initially the 250/4 Sonnar was the longet lens available for the Contarex system and of the original set, the only lens finished in black. This early version has a preset diaphragm and a standard focus helical, both changed in the later version. It was an expensive lens, listed at $329 in 1960, the most expensive lens in the system at that time, and more expensive than the Bullseye body.

The Zeiss product code for the lens is 11.2406.
